Fall Vegetable Gardening
Fall Vegetable Gardening InformationsIf you aren't sure about attracting food for the birds you might want to consider providing food for these birds you are hoping to draw into your summer garden. You can accomplish this by filling bird feeders (make sure you use feeders that are designed to prevent squirrels from stealing the food intended for your birds) with foods that attract the birds you are most interested in attracting to your lawn. In addition to planting flowers and trees that will attract various birds to your summer garden you should also take care to attract food to your summer garden for these desirable birds as well. In order to help keep insects away, always try and eliminate places in your garden and near your garden that these insects and other plant diseases could be living. Although you can never wipe out these pests entirely, after all your hard work in the garden you have to do something. Insects are one of the worst things to have in your garden; they can live under the soil, in old weeds or piles of leaves, or in a number of other places. Fall Vegetable Gardening Tips and AdviceOne way to check if your plant needs re-potting is to turn it upside down. Sometimes the roots will come out of the pot. You should either cut them off or re-pot the plant. Tap the pot to release the plant and check its roots. Or their roots system may be small enough that they don't require re-potting. Some plants require re-potting for optimum growth but there are others that resent having their roots disturbed. If roots are all you see, then re-pot. This has a two-fold benefit for the organic gardener. Attract birds to your garden. First of all the birds are often natural predators for many of the bugs that make a nuisance of themselves in the average summer garden. Second, birds leave behind their own little fertilizing additions to the landscape of your garden. Fall Vegetable Gardening Solutions
